Support for Guard and Reserve

Family Readiness is the level of preparedness Families and Soldiers have in preparation for that call to active duty.



Mobilized Eligibility

Mobilized Army National Guard and U.S. Army Reserve Soldiers are eligible for the same CYS programs and services as Active Duty Soldiers.



Community Based Care Programs
  • Operation Military Child Care (OMCC) - Operation Military Child Care (OMCC) provides child care fee assistance for eligible Families whose children (6 wks – 12 yrs) are enrolled in licensed off-post community based care programs to support Military parents with their additional child care needs when they are deployed. OMCC helps geographically dispersed Military Families locate licensed child care options where they reside and arranges for them to pay reduced child care fees while the Military Parent is deployed. Children of deployed Single Military Parents, Dual Military couples and Service Members whose spouse and children’s guardians are working or attending school full-time/part time. Licensed Child Care Centers and Family Child Care Providers are available in all 50 states.
  • Military Child Care in Your Neighborhood (MCCYN) - Military Child Care in Your Neighborhood (MCCYN) provides off-post child care options for Families who have children 6 weeks – 12.  MCCYN helps Army Families locate and enroll in quality nationally accredited programs in the community where they live, and allows them to pay reduced fees, comparable to those charged on-post.  MCCYNsupports Child Care Centers and Family Child Care Providers with fee assistance in all 50 states and helps to support the program’s enrollment and demonstrates recognition of their accredited high quality child care program.  MCCYN is for children of Active Duty Single Military Parents, Dual Military Couples and Service Members whose spouses are working or attending school.  This also includes eligible Reserve Component Families. 


Army Fee Assistance

Army Fee Assistance is available for Families using Federally sponsored child care centers through General Services Administration (GSA). Eligible Army Families can receive subsidies through GSA or Child Care Aware of America.



Operation: Military Kids (OMK)

Operation: Military Kids (OMK)Operation: Military Kids (OMK): A partnership between military and community youth organizations, provides quality program opportunities to support geographically dispersed military youth ages 5-18.

Through a variety of recreational, social and educational activities, OMK connects military youth to others who are experiencing deployment and teaches important resiliency skills. Operation: Military Kids support is provided at low or no cost to military families.

Non-Mobilized Eligibility

Non-Mobilized National Guard and U.S. Army Reserve Soldiers may be entitled to programs and services offered through their Component.
